Alright, here we go….
Day 1 (8/11/12) of our trip we spent traveling. The kids did surprisingly well; better than me, I think. We were on the same plane for 7 or 8 hours. It’s very wearing on a person to be on a small aircraft with three squirmy, tired children for that amount of time. I know it’s nothing compared to crossing the plains or anything but it’s not really a joyful experience for me either. Anyways, we left Florida around 3 and arrived in Heber around midnight (that’s 2AM our time). The kids were so excited to finally be at Grandma Cliffie’s house that they stayed up for another hour exploring and playing with toys!
Day 2 (8/12/12) of our trip included family pictures, brunch, church/baby blessing for Katelyn, naps, and a luncheon at Rigby’s house.
We had a luncheon at Shannon’s parents house after the baby blessing. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the scenery was stunning, and the company was great. My kids were in heaven. The Rigby’s have several acres and lots of different animals – that’s Sadie’s heaven. They also had lots of sports equipment to play with – that’s Jax’s heaven. McKay enjoyed the desserts and the free space to roam – heaven! We were a very happy bunch!
After our luncheon, which lasted several hours, we did an improptu visit to Jake’s farm. Jake is Natalie’s boyfriend. Natalie is Ben’s little sister. Jake’s family has many horses and he was kind enough to let the kids feed and pet them. Super nice guy!
This concludes part one of our Utah trip 🙂
Stay tuned (but don’t hold your breath) for parts 2, 3, and 4.
Shannon - Oh Alicia! The pictures are beautiful. Thanks for taking pictures of my little family. They turned out so cute. I just wish I were looking a little better. It’s not your fault, just mine. I have a lot of baby weight to lose. I loved the pictures you took at my parent’s house too. I’ve been putting pictures on my blog today too and all these pictures are making me homesick. I want to go back!!!
I’m happy to hear you had a fun time at my parent’s house. I feel bad I didn’t get to visit with all of you outside. I had to feed Katelyn at one point and then kept busy with other relatives who wanted to visit with me inside.
I just love it at my parent’s house too. I love to just send the kids outside to play. I never have to worry too much about them and there’s always so much to do there. We’ll have to have you come again when you visit next time.
Natalie - Love this post, Alicia. The pictures really are great. I’m so impressed you got so many up so fast. I especially like the ones of the kids playing in the grass after Katelyn’s blessing. We really miss you… A Lot… A lot a lot!
Desiree - There it is! I love the colors in this family picture. The pictures of Bret and Shannon made me giggle. They are sure cute even if Shannon doesn’t agree.
