Oh November. My busiest of months. Sadly, my least favorite of holidays. I know I sound like a Scrooge but that’s the truth of the matter.
This November was particularly busy! It included 16 full portrait sessions, 7 mini sessions, 2 6-hour weddings, 6 doctor’s appointments (each an hour away), kids’ extracurriculars, church responsibilities- specifically Priesthood Preview, and preparations for baby #4.
Most of the month is a blur. So let’s just talk about Thanksgiving.
The kids wanted to have a Turkey Trot race at our house. They instructed us on how it would go. They each got an index card and ran laps around the outside of the house. Ben sat in the front yard and stamped their index card each time they passed by. I sat in the backyard and gave them drinks and cheered for them. It was really cute and fun! Ben did stretching with them before we began….
Our favorite little dog, Mr Darcy, was visiting while his family was traveling for Thanksgiving. The kids love him! I love him more, I think.
Surprisingly, McKay was the winner. He ran around the house 56 times! We were blown away by his stamina. It was a hot day so Sadie and Jax jumped in the pool to cool off after they were done. McKay continued to run while they played in the water.
McKay’s Turkey Trot card was completely filled on each side! One “M” stamp for each lap.
We went down to Mike and Sarah’s house for Thanksgiving supper. Steve and Mary were visiting from Maryland. It’s always fun to have extra family visit around the holidays. Joe and Julie’s family was in Utah and Kimmy stayed in DC. Sarah’s parents came, too.
A few other family pictures from November….
Setting up the Christmas tree and pictures on the stairs after church.
