Preschool Program, Park, and Legoland

On Friday, 12/21/12, Sadie had her Christmas preschool Prayer Service.  She dressed up as an angel.  I found a poofy, white skirt at Target and Sadie thinks it’s the greatest thing ever.  She’s been wearing it a lot lately.  She just can’t get enough.  All girl that one.

No wings or halo yet but isn’t she sweet?!?!

If you remember her Thanksgiving Prayer Service program didn’t go so well.  She cried when she saw all the people so she sat on her teacher’s lap the whole time.  Well, this time she did much better.  She actually sang the first two songs!  Then she spotted us and started getting sad and nervous but stood there bravely through another few songs.  Finally during the last song, which ironically was something about “Joy, Joy, Joy, Happiness, Happiness, Happiness”, Sadie started crying.  Her sweet, wonderful teacher went up and stood with her through the end of the song and the closing prayer/remarks.  I was so proud of her for making it as long as she did!

My family was so sweet to come up and support Sadie.  Julie and James were there, too, but in the restroom when we took the picture below.

After the program we went to a park by Sadie’s preschool and ate pizza for lunch.  It was a super chilly day for us.  Everyone still had fun, though.

After we finished up at the park we headed to Legoland with our kids.  I have a very kind and generous and thoughtful brother named Michael who gave us the tickets.  They have season passes yet somehow they ended up with 4 free tickets so he passed them along to us.  Thanks Mike!

We had a splendid time!  It’s always fun to do new things with the kids and experience the excitement with them.  This park was more geared towards kids slightly older (it’s a 5 – 8 year old’s dream come true!) or more adventurous than ours.  Sadie wouldn’t ride a single ride.  The little boys wanted to ride everything (especially McKay kept pointing and grunting and begging when he would see the moving rides) but they were too small to ride most of them.  After about an hour we found lots of things for our kids to do and they had a great time!

This was Sadie’s favorite place. Simple lego blocks and a table. She begged to go back to this location all afternoon.

Sadie felt McKay was getting cold and needed his hood on 🙂

Our favorite place was probably mini-world.  They had lots of mini lego replicas of interesting places.  Very impressively done, I have to say.

McKay loved the moving rides: Carousel, car rides, train rides, fire truck ride. etc.  I think he’ll love roller coasters when he’s older.

They had a 4D show that was a little too scary for Jax so we left part way through:

We stayed for the tree lighting ceremony and music show at the end of the night.  They had fake snow during it which the kids found to be amazing!  Ben had my camera at this point and took a ton of cute pictures.  I was so into the music show and McKay I didn’t even realize he was snapping away.  I love it when I find his surprise pictures on my memory card.  I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites.  He’s getting pretty good!

We were freezing by the end. It felt like it really could snow!  Exiting the park and all bundled up:

It was a long and wonderful fun-filled day.  Those are my favorites!  I wonder if our kids will have any memories yet of all these things we do with them and places we take them.  I like to hope they will.

alicia - Thanks! We did have fun. It was a cute place for little kids. My kids weren’t lego-lovers before but I bet they’ll have more interest now. What were you doing up at 3:53am? You really partied hard in the New Year celebration, huh? 🙂 Miss you guys!ReplyCancel

Shannon - I love Sadie in her cute, white skirt. She is an angel!

My kids would be in heaven if we took them to Legoland. Marissa and Derek LOVE legos. Santa brought Marissa a girl version of legos and Derek a police version. They spend a lot of time upstairs putting them together. Maybe someday we can make it there.ReplyCancel
