Anyone who knows us knows that we love Ft. DeSoto Beach. It’s an extra few minutes of driving but Ft. DeSoto is the most beautiful, most private (at least it use to be), and most fun beach we have found. In fact, my father has requested to be buried at Ft. DeSoto (maybe that will keep the tourists out). So, over Christmas break we ventured down there for a beach day and we had a blast.
Mike and Sarah brought their kayak, and Kimmy brought a water balloon launcher and we used it to launch tennis balls. We had fun launching the tennis balls way up into air and catching them.
However, we started to get a little bored so we started launching the tennis balls at the people in the kayaks. The experience turned cold when I launched a ball just over Ben’s head and he went to reach and leaned a little too far and ended up in the water. Opps! The air temperature was about 80 and the water temperature was 70 degrees. I thought Ben was nuts but he found it refreshing – after the initial shock.
The whole day was very fun and relaxing. The babies did great and the weather was beautiful. It made me hopeful that Sadie is getting to the age where we can do more things. I have visions of going to the beach and swimming in the pool
all summer. Let’s hope Sadie has the same vision 🙂
Lori - You can come to our pool all summer.
Joseph - Nice pictures. Funny that it took Mike moving to finally find that water balloon launcher again.
chante - I am so jealous. The beach in the middle of winter. I have forgotten what that’s like!!!
Christy - Did mom buy that dress for Sadie?
Alicia - Christy, mom did buy that outfit for Sadie. It’s from cracker barrell. It is a little chicken outfit and has little chicken legs that dangle off it. It’s pretty cute 🙂
Alicia - Lori, I accept!
Kimmy - hey, lets not forget about me here…
secret word… catero!
KT - Seriously, is it warm enough in Florida to go to the beach in the winter time? I guess that’s a plus to living here…
