******************************************************************

1.  Hearing the sound of the ocean at all times.  I especially loved waking up at night and listening to it.  So peaceful.

2. No predators in the water.  There are no dangerous sharks, jellyfish, baracuda, stingrays….nothing.  The only caution was the coral.  There wasn’t a strong current nor big waves.  It was great to be worry free.

3. Snorkeling.  There were loads of tropical fish, sea anemones, sponges, corals, etc.  We especially the proximity to snorkeling.  It was always right there and we could go for as long or as little time as we wanted.  So convenient.

5. Food.  It was pricey but understandably so.  We loved the variety and I thought the quality was great.

6. Glowing, clear water and wonderful sand.  Some sand is rocky, some is shelly, some is dark. The sand in the Maldives was a warm, course sand – free of rocks and shells.  It wasn’t powdery soft but I loved it.  Also, the water seemed to glow.  It was so clear and so blue.  I sat in my beach chair and stared out at that water for hour after hour and never tired of the view.

7. Perfect air and water temperature.  The outdoor temperature was around 76 with a constant gentle breeze in the day.  Yet, the water was plenty warm, too.  Both were always the perfect temperature.

8. Sunsets.  The sunsets were so colorful and the cloud formations unique.  Maybe the lack of air pollution made the colors especially vibrant?  With the endless, blue water and vibrant sky it was such a feast for the eyes.

10.  Privateness and quietness.  Other than at meals we hardly ever saw other people.  Maybe we had neighbors and they were always inside?  Maybe they were out on day excursions?  I never saw a single other set of footprints in the sand on our side of the island.  There were a few times we wished there was someone around to take our picture.  🙂  It felt like we were on our own personal deserted island.  We did meet some friends while snorkeling and we talked for a while.  Other than that…..no one, except at meals.

11.  One more….no mosquitoes.  We expected to have problems but we never saw a single mosquito.

It was extraordinary!  I have ZERO complaints.  Everything was just perfection!  Oh, I miss it.
