Who you may ask is Christy Larsgard? That is my soon to be sister. Yup, Christy and Troy got engaged last night (June 30th). He popped the question while they were taking a romantic stroll on the beach, and reading their book of the month – Treasure Island. He put a ‘treasure’ on her hand. They are the giddiest two love birds I’ve ever come across.
A little about Troy….he’s 29 in one month (yes, Christy is only 20), he majored in Pyschology at BYU and he’s now working on his masters degree in public administration. He grew up in Minnesota but his family has relocated to Sandy, UT. He enjoys reading, running, and connect four. Most importantly, though, he makes Christy very happy.
The happy couple will be ‘sealing’ the deal in a Utah temple and they are not yet sure when (either August or April, I’m told). We’re hoping for April as we will be out there the beginning of August for the Johnson family reunion and it would be rather challenging to go back out two weeks later.
chante - When I saw this post, I started screaming!! Jonathan kept telling me to chill out, but I was too excited!! That is such great news. Thanks for keeping us in the loop 😀
chante - p.s. I love the way Troy proposed. We are all so lucky to have thoughtful hubbies who each proposed in romantic, meaningful ways!
Lori - Speak for yourself about the thoughtful hubby proposing in such romantic, meaningful ways!! We were late for a softball game. Congrats to Christy. This explains why she forgot to call me and come by this morning before they left to get him to the airport.
chante - So did he propose on the way to the softball game??
Lori - Only because his roommates reminded him that he hadn’t asked me.
Christy - Troy tells his version pretty good too. His blog is larsgardtroy.blogspot.com. It’s just a little silly but I like reading it. I like the post about messing up his grandpa’s hair in may too.
We actually never read Treasure Island on the beach. Once the question was popped we forgot all about it. I did end up with a treasure though and we were on a barrier island. 🙂
