Valentine’s Day

Good ‘ole Valentine’s Day…..

It’s right in the middle of February which is Ben’s busiest month of the year so it often gets minimal attention in our house.  I should probably put more effort into doing something creative and memorable with the kids but it just always sneaks up on me.

This year Sadie had her preschool party in the morning.  Afterwards we went with the some of the teachers, parents, and students to a nursing home to deliver boxes to the elderly.  In the afternoon we painted and played.  We met Ben in the evening at TCBY for frozen yogurt.

Sadie quite enjoyed her preschool party and all the Valentine’s she received.  She wanted to wear her pink and very frilly dress to school (thanks Grandma Cliffie!).

McKay wore a manly purple shirt and I gave him a mohawk.  He was very impressed!  After I had finished his hair he took my hand and pulled me to the front door.  I said, “You want me to take your picture?”  Head nod.  We have a spot just outside the front door where I often have them lean up against the wall and take their pictures before church on Sundays or when they’re looking especially cute.  He was taking me to that spot for his photo-op.  What a great kid!

I had a cute outfit picked out for Jax but he refused to wear it.  There was only one outfit he would wear.  He insistedon wearing his cow costume.  It’s his belief that all holidays should be celebrated by wearing costumes, like on Halloween.  I’m choosing my battles these days, so a cow costume he wore.  It actually brought quite a big of happiness to our old people friends.

Jax is holding the box that we decorated. He had so much fun helping!

Painting in the afternoon:

She had just eaten a lollipop – hence the green lips and teeth 🙂

TCBY at night:

The boys didn’t enjoy it at all!  Can you tell?!?!

Shannon - Jax is too cute! I love that he wanted to wear his cow costume for Valentine’s.

I love that you caught the boys getting the last of their ice cream from their bowls too. This is exactly how Tyler likes to finish off his ice cream too 🙂ReplyCancel
