The Chicks Have Landed

I think I’ve decided to make this one of our Easter traditions.

The kids go ga-ga over these chicks!  I have to admit I like them quite a bit, too.  It’s an enormously popular, relatively cheap ($2.79 per chick) tradition that doesn’t involve candy and has a symbol purpose.  Win!

We bought three chicks again this year.  Sadie named hers Tessa.  Jax named his Tessa, too and we call her Tessa Too.  McKay named his Bubbles.  That’s one of his favorite words to say.

Sadie is the biggest fan of the chicks.  She is very gentle and nurturing.  When we first got them she kept tucking them under her chin because she informed me she had to keep them warm.  How does she know these things?

McKay has a cautious curiosity and Jax only holds them occasionally.  His favorite thing is to lay down and have Sadie put one on his belly.  He giggles with glee.

Last Friday I also took them into Sadie’s preschool (forgot my camera).  Sadie had fun introducing them to her friends.  It was really cute to watch each child’s reaction and excitement.

They’re providing loads of entertainment!

Kristy - Hey! What awesome pictures of your kiddos! I love them! A place here in town sells chicks too, but what do you after your done(?) with them? Is that a weird question? 🙂 I just know that I’m not raising a bunch of chickens? But having a few chicks around for a little while would be fun…thoughts?ReplyCancel

alicia - Hah! No, that is not a funny question. I should have mentioned that. We have two friends who have chicken coups so we plan to give them to one of them. You could also list them for free on craigslist. A lot of people have backyard chicken coups that would probably take them. They are fun 🙂ReplyCancel
