Top 10 List

Top 10 things going on with us lately:

1.  Kimmy comes home from Jerusalem tomorrow!  Yeah!

2.  McKay has a runny nose so we can’t go see her though 🙁

3.  I just took a photography class through ClickinMoms and loved it!  Strangely, my pictures have really been lacking lately though?

4.  The kids and I have been going to the story time at Brooker Creek Preserve the last two weeks.  I love that place!  How did I not know about it sooner?!?!

These are a few pictures from the first time we went:

This past week I had actually actually done my hair (a small miracle around here these days) so I asked a friendly older to woman to take a picture of me and the kids.  This was the one she took:

Since only one-third of McKay was in the picture I decided to ask a different friendly old lady to take our picture.  This was what she captured:

A little better of a picture? Maybe? Only Sadie was sharp and since Jax looks like his finger is up his nose so later on I asked another not-so-older woman to take a picture of us while I was reading to the kids.  Jax and McKay decided they didn’t want to participate so it was just Sadie and me in the picture.  I’ll take what I can get though.

5.  I still need to do a blog post about what McKay is like as a 2 year old and I went out to do his two year old pictures but it was a failure.  Sorry for that run on sentence.  These were the best we got:

6. I’m a nervous wreck about Sadie starting school on Monday.

7. Two months until we leave for India and I’m getting very excited mixed with a little nervous.  Still so much to do for that trip!

8.  We stayed at my parents house last Thursday – Monday (they are gone on vacation) and had a lovely time.  I was lazy about pictures.  Activities included watching movies, shark week shows, Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, beach day, Trek reunion (thanks for babysitting Joe and Julie), Seminole ward on Sunday, visiting with Gramma and cousin Jesse, 17 Miracles Movie, park play date at Largo Central Park with Julie, pool play date with Fegers, and beach FHE with Joe and Julie.  It was a nice little getaway!

9.  My mom paid over $1000 to have Shadow the Dog’s teeth cleaned and pulled.  I’m still in pain about that expense.  I will admit, his breath is very tolerable now.

10. Our neighbors are snowbirds and their house alarm has been going off for two weeks.  That’s driving me a little crazy.  I have no way to contact them.  Any ideas?

BONUS: We had a really fun dinner with the Pateras and Jaclyn last night.  It’s great to be around nice, normal people!  They don’t look normal in their pictures (haha – JK Jaclyn!) but they are 🙂

EXTRA BONUS: I took the kids to their first movie theater movie last week.  We went to see Big Cats but Jax was too scared.  We then tried to see Disney’s Chimpanzee instead.  We spent some time in the hall warming up to the idea, then sat on the floor in the back of the theater, and eventually made it to the back row seats.  We did need to leave the theater twice when the mother chimp was killed and when a violent fight scene between male chimps broke out.  As awful as that all sounds, we actually had a great time 🙂  I really liked the movie!  Des, you should rent it.  It’s about adoption in the wild kindof.  Very heart warming!

Wandering the halls with Jax and making him repeat the sentence, “I am brave!”

Can you find McKay?

Apparently I did my hair twice last week. Bonus points for me!

Christy - Great pictures, as usual. It’s so nice to see what you guys are up to. Did Tiffany do swim lessons with Sadie or did you guys just meet up at the pool?

The Brooker Creek Preserve story time looks great. I wish we lived close and I would go with you. It’s fun to find those kinds of really nice, interesting, fun places to take kids. I want to take Madeleine to the MLBean Life Science museum out here but it’s still closed for another 8 months or so. They’ve been working on renovations for the past couple of years. Hopefully it’s worth all the down time!ReplyCancel

Alicia Johnson - That was just at her pool. Sadie actually can swim now but she just likes the convenience of wearing her life jacket and I like it because I don’t have to stress about her (much). You would love Brooker Creek. And, I want to go to the Bean Museum next time we’re out there. It’s been closed forever!ReplyCancel
