Catching up

It seems like a year has gone by since my last blog post.  In actuality, it’s only been a month and a half but so much has happened that I know I’ll never be able to document it all.  The last two months are a bit of a blur and I haven’t been great about taking pictures but I’ll jot down what I can remember.

Let’s begin.

We moved.

Taken just before our final departure.

I expected it to be really hard but when the time came I just felt so happy and relieved.  I’m so excited for our next home so it wasn’t as hard to leave good ‘ole Beaufort behind.  Moving was a lot of work, but less than I expected.  I’m sure moving in to the next house will be challenging.

The day after the move we went to the park for some family time one evening.  We had been so busy and emotionally charged with the move is felt so great to have some quiet family time. A few pictures from that evening:

They did this on their own. McKay likes to pretend Sadie is his mommy.

Kissing me on the cheek….painful and wet. Gotta love him for trying!

A few days later we went picking strawberries with my mom.  To say my kids loved it would probably be the biggest understatement of the year.  This may have been the greatest day of their life!  I think McKay has officially decided to be a migrant worker.  After every berry McKay would say to my mom, “Look at this one Mimi!”  Every. One!  He was just amazed and he loves to be given a “job” so this was especially fun for him.  I also realized how grown up the kids are becoming.  Last time we went it was chaos.  This time each child was legitimately helpful.  The boys picked and Sadie transported all of our picked quarts back to the van.  It was really great fun.  I have a lot of fun childhood memories of doing the same thing; it’s fun my kids will have similar memories.

A filthy, happy little boy!

McKay was determined to help me bring the strawberries inside.  I snapped pictures while he put all his effort into the task.

Meanwhile, behind me, Jax had drawn a wave on the ground with chalk and was attempting to surf it.

Love doing yardwork with Gramma Meyers. She actually got a thorn in her hand and had to have surgery to get it cleaned out. She’s on the mend now.

Decisions, decisions.

Still much to say but I’ll continue in another post.
