McKay’s 2nd Birthday Day

Another baby’s birthday come and gone.  McKay turned two last Saturday.  He’s been looking forward to it for a while.  When asked what he wanted he said, “steak,” which in fact was intented to be the word, “cake.”  He also requested, with my prompting, a beach party.  So, cake and the beach – easy enough.  We set up the beach party for the afternoon at Ft. DeSoto.

In the morning we took the kids to Suncoast Gymnastics for open play time.  The kids are free to roam around the gym….trampolines, foam pit, slides, beams, bars, ladders, rings, hula hoops, balls….what’s not to love about that?

Ben and I had wrapped and hidden all his presents the night before but in the rush of life we didn’t have time to go on the Present Hunt when he first woke up.  So, once we arrived home from the gym we sent him on a search for his 13 wrapped presents.  He had fun.  He didn’t really care what was in the presents; it was the act of searching and opening that really thrilled him.

After presents we had lunch and naps and then we loaded up and headed to Ft. DeSoto for the birthday party with the family.

My first time ordering a cake; I just didn’t have the time to make one. McKay loved it!

After eating, opening presents, singing, and cake we headed down to the beach:

The family slowly started disappearing as each packed up and headed home.  We stayed until the very end.  I don’t think we got home until almost 10PM.  The beach is so peaceful in the evening.  We just couldn’t bare to leave.

It was a great birthday day, if I do say so myself.  I think he loved it!

I love that baby!  So, so, so much I love that baby!

christy - Looks like fun! I wish we could have been there. Tell Moe Auntie Kiki loves him and we can’t wait to come visit him!

Also, I think the present hunt is brilliant. I’m going to have to try that.

    Love you!ReplyCancel
